Bible Studies

There are several opportunities for Bible Study
here at Cormorant Lutheran Church.

Bible Study is open for anyone available on Friday mornings at 9 am. It meets in the Conference Room over a cup of coffee. It is led by Frances Hall and the primary source is the Bible. Bring your favorite Bible or use one that we have here at church. We follow a series usually, but each session is sufficiently "self contained" that one can get something from it even if they can only attend periodically. Come when you can and share in the study and conversation around God's written Word.

The women have Bible Study in their Circles that meet monthly. Check on the Cormorant Lutheran Church Women page for their schedule.

Prayer Chain

When we can't do anything else for someone, we can always pray.

The Prayer Chain Ministry at Cormorant Lutheran uses e-mail so it is very easy and undemanding. Whenever prayers are requested by members or non-members, please contact the church office or the pastor and an email will be sent out to the Ministry Team. Immediately after receiving the e-mail, the Prayer Warrior will take the prayer request to the Lord and pray for God's will to be done. The Prayer Chain Ministry Team always uses Christian discretion to keep prayer requests confidential.

Vespers on the Lake

From time to time during the summer months, we schedule a vesper service, usually a Wednesday evening. Since we are located in 'Lakes Country', we like to hold these services while floating on a quiet backwater of an area lake. Usually a member family agrees to host the service. Then everyone meets at the host property. We all then board Pontoon or other boats and travel to a quiet area of the lake and hold a short Vesper service. After the service we make our way back to the host for some fellowship time.

Vacation Bible School

VBS usually occurs in the first week of August and meets Monday – Wednesday from 9 a.m. -- Noon. This year it will be held August 7, 8, and 9. It has become a wonderful ministry of the Grandparents bringing their children to visit through that time. Vacation Bible School is always the most fun week of the summer and it creates life-long memories. A large number of volunteers is always helpful and helps make the Vacation Bible School a success. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer!!!

This year's VBS is Kingdom Rock!

At Kingdom Rock, kids discover how to stand strong for God! Kingdom Rock is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Sciency-Fun Gizmos™, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the royally rockin' activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we'll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!

Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us in "The Royal Courtyard" section each day at 9 a.m. , because that's when we'll be having Fanfare Finale— a daily celebration of God's love you won't want to miss. So mark these dates on your calendar: August 7th — August 9th!The fun starts at 9:00 a.m. and will end at noon.

Call this number 218.532.2694 to register your children for this life-changing adventure! Or register at Church!

Sunday School

We love Sunday School at Cormorant Lutheran as we teach the wonderful stories of the Bible and walk in faith with our children. Our Sunday School includes children from Preschool-6th grade and is in session from September—May. We begin with an opening at 9:30am and finish with class 10:20a.m. Throughout the year we will host different events for the Sunday School to connect children, families and faith. We hope you will join us as we make connections through the Bible. Volunteers are always welcome!!! The registration form is available here.

Milestone Ministry

A milestone marks the path a road may take us on a journey. At Cormorant Lutheran we like to celebrate the "milestone" or the faith journey that our children and their families take. This an intentional partnership in ministry between a child's parents and sponsors, and the congregation, throughout the child/young person's growing years. The milestones we currently celebrate are: Baptism, study and presentation of third grade Bibles, 1st Communion, Confirmation, and Graduation from High School. We look to grow this ministry so that we walk even farther with the families in their children's faith development.
